Google Panda first wave hit at US based webs on February 24, 2011 and the impacts was fatal for some of the websites. This update is designed to filter low-quality sites with low-value add for users, copy content from other websites. The winners are the sites with original content and information with research, in-depth reports, thoughtful analysis and useful information. This update also duped as farmer update as it aim to isolate content farm sites from Google Search Engine Result Pages (SERP).

Related query results refinements: Google explain on their blog for this “Sometimes we fetch results for queries that are similar to the actual search you type.
