Amazon Associate Pt 5 – Effective Marketing Strategies

In previous post I have highlighted what you need to understand and observe to hit the right targeted market in order to produce high sales conversion rate. Today, we will look into what are the best effective marketing strategies might work well for your Amazon affiliate program.

The best part about Amazon is that it is a trusted brand, people know if they bought anything they definitely will receive it and can be return if it’s not fits the purpose. Amazon promoting millions of products, basically they have products for everyone. Their system can track you based on your previous visit and buying trend to suggest you relevant products. If you recommend anyone to Amazon your affiliate cookies will be plant for next 24 hours, lets say the visitor click on your laptop promotion link but end up buying software in next 24 hours you will get the commissions for all the products he buys.

1. Social Marketing Influence

Naturally people will feel safe when other user telling about their personal buying experience, positive feedback will increase your chances in getting more clicks through for any product you are promoting. When you let your visitor speak their mind you are making them to be an unauthorized sales force for you. That is the reason why I suggest you run your site using WordPress blogging platform so visitors can participate with you. And also I suggest you to establish your own “best seller” products among products you promoting similar to one at Amazon or you can pull Amazon stats to your site.

2. Keep An Eye on Promotion & Discount

Always keep an eye on Amazon offers and promotion, its natural people to swipe their credit card more when there are discounts and promotion price. You have to use these opportunities to double your effort and increase your sales.

3. Pictures Not Only Means Thousand of Words But Also Can Convert Better sales

When you review products, try to use images and link it to Amazon page you are promoting. And also there is suggestion from expert that using “Buy Now” image button similar to Amazon pages below the image can convert higher sales rates.

Products linking also play very important role in managing your affiliate program pages, if you use over hyperlinks it may irritate your visitor or seen as spam but if you are not link properly you may find decrease in your click through. From my research, I have found that at least 3 hyperlink in a review is worthwhile. One hyperlink at top of the page, the second link could be associated with the image and 3rd link at bottom of page.

5. Running Multiple Campaign for Per Product

For some popular products its worth doing multiple campaign to promote that particular product, for instance Amazon has pre-order facility for certain high-end products which are will be on market soon. You can take this opportunity to write about the announcement, later on when the products hit the market you can write once again. Once you get proper information or get review the products you can write review of the product. Do you get what I mean? These will explore more opportunities for you to expose the new releases and penetrate early buyers market.

6. Promoting Related Products

Lets say you are running photography niche review site, you can write review about certain brand memory card or camera lens other than usual camera itself. Once you send a visitor to the Amazon door they will take care the rest. One thing great about Amazon is they are fantastic at cross-selling. If you go to Amazon to buy a camera, you will be then suggested camera case, memory cards, spare batteries etc. And what often happens is people will buy those cross sells, which means more commissions for you.

Its human nature to drive us to bigger dollar $$ sign but don’t forget there are many people earning comfortable living by just selling small commission products at Amazon. I personally knew some of them. This is the best way to leverage your site’s earning and also its will help you to increase your commission tier margin. Your commission percentage (%) is increased when you sell more items at Amazon. You have to play safe and balance in placing small and big ticket products in your sites so that it’s open more products exposure and leveraging your income.

Normally the Amazon sales hit high on November and December for holidays and Christmas. You should take this opportunity to double your effort to get your holiday season’s pie J.

Amazon Associate provides excellent support tools to promote their products.  Even though I prefer reviews method but many other bloggers do earn good money with Amazon widgets and astore. Experiment with these widgets and astore  and choose the best suit to your marketing strategy.

Track your sales so that you know what products convert well and not, so you can improve your site’s sales performance in future.

11. Localizing Your Amazon Marketing Strategy

Amazon flexes their muscle to widen their market, now you can access to those products that previously have problem to ship out from US. So now you can earn commission for big ticket product previously only available for US visitors. If you are using wordpress then there is free plugin Call WordPress-Amazon- Associate to smoothen your Amazon localize marketing task. If your traffic coming from multiple country this plugin can direct them to available local Amazon store according to their ip address.
